That classifies as "hot" in my book. 5/26/2003 11:53:18 AM So you may have noticed on occassion the Amber Alert ticker at the top of the page ... imnsho a great way to use the web to help folks out. However, I didn't like the fact that the folks at codeamber.org wanted me to run the ticker ALL the time ... not only did it seem silly to have the ticker going when there were no alerts, but I am convinced it will make them less effective --- if the ticker jumps out only when it needs to be seen people are much more likely to look at it.
So the ticker above will only pop up when there is an active alert. If you'd like to have the same functionality on your site, feel free to link to the script with code like this:

And if you agree that the codeamber project would be more effective if THEY supported a disappearing ticker, let them know ... they didn't get the message when it was just me telling them. :) 5/14/2003 12:49:07 PM So yesterday I was really bored, so I turned on my webcam and gave Bill a virtual tour of my office.
